Unlocking AI’s potential requires challenging our thinking
It’s time to start embracing AI as a creative partner rather than just an efficiency tool.

Many early adopters of artificial intelligence have focused on using it to streamline and automate existing business tasks.
While having AI schedule social media posts or draft a sample press release can save time, Brian Solis, head of global innovation at ServiceNow, believes that limiting AI to efficiency improvements prevents businesses from unlocking its potential for creativity and exploration.
Solis, a futurist and author, challenged business leaders to rethink their approach during Ragan’s recent AI Horizons Conference in Miami. He emphasized that AI’s true value lies in expanding capabilities and discovering new ways of working rather than merely improving established processes.
Communicators should use the technology to enhance creativity, spot trends and uncover insights.
“AI is not here to do yesterday’s work better tomorrow,” Solis said during his opening keynote address. “This is the first technology revolution that is a control-alt-delete moment. The question is, how do you want to reboot?”
