As the Great Recession continues to pound small businesses, the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council released its “Small Business Survival Index,” which ranks states on a variety of factors important to startups. South Dakota, Nevada, Texas, Wyoming and Washington are the most entrepreneur-friendly; New Jersey is the worst. Check out the other 14 worst places for small businesses.
