Subway denies any prior knowledge of Jared Fogle’s crimes
The sandwich chain’s former pitchman has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography and multiple counts of sexual activity with minors.
Despite a journalist’s claims that she attempted to tip Subway off to former pitchman Jared Fogle’s crimes, the sandwich chain is denying that executives had any idea what he was doing.
Fogle pleaded guilty last week to multiple counts of engaging in sexual acts with minors and possession of child pornography.
Florida journalist Rochelle Herman-Walrond, who also tipped off the FBI after reportedly overhearing Fogle make inappropriate comments about young girls, told Gawker that she also tried to warn Subway through the company’s online comment form. Another tipster also claims to have let the company know about Fogle’s behavior.
