Kelly Kaplan

From boots to the executive boardroom, Kelly Kaplan is a career communicator, leading across several industries. A communications graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park, Kaplan was commissioned as a U.S. Air Force officer upon graduation. After serving as a Public Affairs officer, she crossed over to the news industry as a morning anchor and reporter for a local NBC affiliate. Finding her way back to a love of the communications industry, Kaplan worked in media relations and social media for the Disneyland Resort and Houston Astros. For eleven years, she was a communications leader for Boeing Defense. Most recently, she was tapped to lead corporate external communications for WM (formerly Waste Management), North America’s leading environmental solutions provider and largest recycler.
