Courtney D. Williams is the former communications director at The Obama Foundation, where she oversaw the group’s internal and external communications; led the development, planning and execution of strategic communications; and ensured alignment of internal and external messaging connected to foundation-related news, community engagement and development. She’s a creative, strategic communications leader with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, corporate and nonprofit environments. Her career includes working as a journalist in print, radio and television, which means she is comfortable taking the pen on content or working on both sides of the camera. She specializes in executive and crisis communications, DEI work and human resources efforts. Her experience also includes planning for large-scale events, such as directing speaking engagements for President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.
