Papa John’s gets an earful after jokey apology to singer
Iggy Azalea accused a delivery driver of giving out her phone number to family members. Papa John’s replied by quoting her lyrics, which Azalea didn’t seem to appreciate.
What should a brand manager do when a singer with more than 4.2 million Twitter followers complains about a privacy breach?
Papa John’s opted to apologize, but in a joking way that set pop star Iggy Azalea off on a 10-tweet rant bashing the pizza brand.
The trouble started Sunday evening, when Azalea tweeted this screenshot of what appears to be a text from the sibling of a Papa John’s delivery driver:
@PapaJohns I ordered a cheese pizza but instead I got tons of calls and messages like this one. pic.twitter.com/fgKhydivXb

Azalea said that text was one of “tons” of calls and messages she received after the driver gave out her phone number.
Papa John’s replied with this:
@iggyazalea #We should have known better. Customer and employee privacy is important to us. Please don’t #bounce us!
