Nescafe campaign turns coffee into calligraphy
In order to premiere two new Nescafe Dolce Gusto machines, a social media marketing firm increased brand buzz through caffeinated pieces of art.
It’s a good thing whoever said, “Don’t play with your food,” forgot to add “or drink” to the end of that sentence. The marketing folks behind Nescafe Dolce Gusto are having a wonderful time playing with coffee and turning it into calligraphy.
It’s called, appropriately, “Coffeegraphy,” and the gist of it involves a professional calligrapher using coffee to write your name.
Nescafe Dolce Gusto brand manager Laura Muirhead explains:
Our brief was to launch two new machines, both containing the same functionality but with very different looks. The idea behind #Coffeegraphy is to show consumers in a fun and engaging way, the coffee machine that matches their personalities. Housing the campaign on Facebook meant that we could gain huge reach in a very social and emotive way.
