Heinz apologizes for QR code that led customer to porn site
The code led to an old address for a contest. The company had let that URL lapse, and someone else grabbed it up.
For a few years now, ketchup maker Heinz has been putting QR codes on its bottles that lead to various promotional sites. The company may want to rethink that—or at least not let its URLs lapse—because a German man found himself on a porn site after scanning one of those QR codes.
