Comedy Central defends ‘Daily Show’ successor
Shortly after the network announced that Trevor Noah would take over as host of the program, people dug through his Twitter account and found jokes they said were sexist and anti-Semitic.
Before April Fools’ Day even got here, someone was getting into major trouble over some online jokes.
That someone is Trevor Noah, the 31-year-old South African comedian that Comedy Central named Monday as Jon Stewart’s successor on “The Daily Show.” Less than a day after the announcement, Twitter users found some questionable jokes in Noah’s timeline.
This one led to claims of sexism:
“Oh yeah the weekend. People are gonna get drunk & think that I’m sexy!” – fat chicks everywhere.

Others drew suggestions that Noah is anti-Semitic:

The Anti-Defamation League even stepped in:
