Big shot Hollywood director drops gay slur, sort of apologizes
What do you think of the mea culpa issued by Brett Ratner, who directed an X-Men movie and the ‘Tower Heist,’ after he dropped an f-bomb during a press conference?
Yeah, you know, the actor who referred to one of his cast mates on “Grey’s Anatomy” as a gay slur and, as a result, was fired and now can’t find work.
Wonder if the same thing will happen to director Brett Ratner.
During a Q&A session that followed a screening of his latest movie “Tower Heist,” the interviewer asked Ratner whether he rehearses with actors before a scene.
The director’s reaction: “Rehearsing is for fags.”
New York magazine’s Vulture blog broke the news of the gay slur after it spotted a tweet from an audience member. According to The Wrap, audience members were stunned by Ratner’s statement and at least one person walked out.
Ratner issued a statement (published in The Wrap), saying:
