Bakery recalls bread over glass shard danger
Bimbo Bakeries—the parent of Sara Lee, Nature’s Harvest and other brands—is the latest of many companies to conduct safety recalls this year.
The year of the recall continues.
Late last week, Bimbo Bakeries USA, which produces bread for brands including Sara Lee, Nature’s Harvest, Kroger, Great Value and L’Oven Fresh, recalled about 48,000 packages of bread products over fears that shards of broken glass might be inside the bread.
A press release from the company states:
The company announced the recall after receiving 3 consumer reports of small pieces of glass found on the outside of the bread. There are no reports of injury.
According to the release, the glass probably came from a broken light bulb at a Bimbo production facility.
