| The AAOS is the world’s largest medical association of musculoskeletal specialists, and the pre-eminent provider of musculoskeletal education in the world. Its PR department, led by director Sandra Gordon, must juggle, balance, and respond to breaking news, crisis communications, spokesperson and general public inquiries, and more, all while keeping its “big picture” projects moving forward and providing top-notch customer service. One example: When a well-established political blog incorrectly cited information about an AAOS public service message that put the reputation of the AAOS and its members at risk, Gordon and her people quickly assembled a crisis team and took control of the story within hours. |
