Poor job market causes PR grad to pursue mechanical engineering
The Chicago Tribune highlights the career woes of the ‘mal-employed,’ including the story of two people with master’s degrees in public relations.
At least your not “mal-employed,” a term that refers to someone with a college degree who takes a low-skilled job.
A story in today’s Chicago Tribune spotlights several mal-employed 20- and 30-somethings, including Bill White, a 28-year-old with a master’s degree in public relations and advertising.
According to the Tribune, White spent about six months looking for a job. “Unable to land one, [he] has shifted his focus to mechanical engineering,” the Trib reported.
That seems like a logical shift.
