Yale names its Quote of the Year
Unlike most of the entries for word of the year, Yale University seems to have found something relevant—at least 99 percent of it.
Dictionary.com gave “tergiversate” the honor.
Merriam-Webster went with “pragmatic.”
Basically, we have British, confusing, and boring as our words of 2011.
Yale University, on the other hand, went with something more relevant when it chose its quote of the year: “We are the 99 percent,” which is the slogan of the Occupy movement.
