Report: The most respected companies in the world
Barron’s compiled its list of the 100 most-respected publicly traded companies. Caterpillar surged; Walmart plummeted; and Apple reigns supreme.
Caterpillar, which wasn’t even on last year’s top 100 list, is No. 5 this year.
Google and Berkshire Hathaway dropped from the top 10, falling from sixth to 16th and third to 15th, respectively. Walmart also took a mighty plummet in 2012, dropping from 18th to 51st.
