Durex issues 150,000 condoms to London Olympians

What do you get when you gather the world’s best athletes in the same close-quarters every two years? If you answered “the Olympics,” we’ll give you partial credit, but the answer we’re looking for is “a lot of sex.” And thanks to Durex, it will be of the safe variety (we assume). The company gave 150,000 condoms to the apparently sex-crazed athletes at the London Games—that’s about 15 each—which is 50 percent more than were handed out in Beijing. It’s hard to imagine they have enough time to break from all their sex-capades to make their respective events.

Nevertheless, and despite earlier reports, it was not the athletes’ arrival to the Olympic Village that crashed the infamous gay male app Grindr this past week.
