Brands take advantage of Apple’s ‘bendgate’
Apple’s unfortunate bending issue with the iPhone 6 Plus has become marketing fodder for companies, including Kit Kat and Dockers. (Update)
For the last couple of days, the buzz in the tech world has been around the iPhone 6 Plus and a not-so-awesome feature: It bends.
And not in a good way (if there is a good way).
It’s been dubbed #Bendgate, and gives those of us who know better than to buy the first iteration of an Apple technology the opportunity to pat ourselves on the back for our patience.
But this guy just ruined the party for the newest iPhone:
Like nits on the back of a majestic silverback gorilla, lesser brands have started to capitalize in interesting ways on Apple’s rare misstep.
Take Kit Kat, for example. The brand showed off its real-time marketing chops with this tweet:
We don’t bend, we #break. #bendgate #iPhone6plus pic.twitter.com/uippCg4kCi
