If you’re looking for a way to inject some life into your corporate or personal blog, these somewhat unconventional techniques may be just the thing.
Do you ever find yourself slogging through blogging? If your answer is “no,” then you’re either kidding yourself or you’re just darn lucky. For those that answered yes, take note of these 12 less-than-obvious ways to help you jog, rather than slog, through posting to your blog.
1. Welcome the negativity.
Consultant, speaker and author Marc Ensign says bloggers tend to be sensitive and defensive when Internet “trolls” slam them.
“It’s this whole, ‘This is my home and you play by my rules’ approach that has them either deleting negative comments or responding to the person commenting by berating them for their opinion,” Ensign says. “Anything worth paying attention to is going to attract some love and some hate.”
2. Generate controversy.
Ensign says some bloggers don’t want to ruffle readers’ feathers, so they write middle-of-the-road posts that fail to take a stand.
