Twitter plans Periscope piracy crackdown after Pacquiao-Mayweather fight
Thousands ran live streams of the pay-per-view event, which caused Twitter to receive nearly 70 copyright complaints.
Some users of the Twitter-owned video streaming service who did purchase the fight gave the rest of us cheap folks a glimpse at what we were missing.
You’re probably already seeing all of the inherent pitfalls with this.
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo seemed to embrace Periscope’s role in allowing people to watch the fight:
