Facebook, Instagram grow with ‘Instant Articles’ and users
Several additional publishers will now share content directly through the social network, and the photo-sharing app’s community now numbers 400 million.
On Tuesday, The Washington Post announced that it would send all of its content to the social network.
“The Post will send 100 percent of its stories to Facebook so that all Washington Post content can be formatted as Instant Articles, giving readers a lightning-fast user experience for reading, sharing and commenting within the Facebook iOS app,” the publication said in a statement.
“If you wanted to, you could read the Post’s entire output—some 1,200 articles a day, including wire stories—without ever leaving Mark Zuckerberg’s app,”Re/code’s senior editor of media, Peter Kafka, reported.
