5 mindfulness tips for a busy workday

Enable yourself to do your best work.

Better wellness for better work

Karianne Michelle will be one of the hosts for Ragan’s Women’s Business Summitt & Retreat for Communicators, Sept. 18-20 in Carlsbad, California. The brand strategist and wellness expert shares her tips for keeping your body well so you can do your best work.

  1. Focus on your feet to ground your energy: In the midst of competing deadlines or feeling overwhelmed, this is one way to find your zen.
  2. Clear your mind with alternate nostril breathing: On a day with big transitions, like back-to-back meetings followed by space dedicated to getting a big deliverable done, this is a way to recenter your mind.
  3. Move out of “stuck” through a six-way spinal stretch: When your body needs to move but an exercise break can’t happen, help your body by getting your blood moving.
  4. Find creative flow by opening your wrists and writing: If getting to the big idea is feeling out of reach, activate your right brain and bring movement to your hands.
  5. Feel energized by alternating your breath pattern: If your energy feels sluggish and stuck, switch up the flow of inhaling and exhaling to help your brain find a new equilibrium.

Center your mind and jumpstart your career at the Women’s Business Summitt & Retreat.
