The good news for fans of Hoover, Ala., football powerhouse Hoover High School is that the team won its preseason scrimmage game against the Florence High Falcons 27-6. The bad news is that Hoover High embarrassed itself a little bit with its pre-game introductions.
As is typical at a high-school football game, the team came bursting through a big breakaway banner as it charged onto the field. Here’s what it said about those pesky Falcons:
“Hoover football cannot be held responsable for ruffled feathers.”
Yahoo Sports reports
that the sign was made by the school’s cheerleading squad, which doesn’t do any favors for Alabama or cheerleaders when it comes to dispelling stereotypes about academic prowess.
