LinkedIn names the 12 best company pages

The social network continues to grow and attract more companies, which are establishing hubs where they share news, recruit employees, and boost awareness of their brand. In September, LinkedIn updated its company pages so they more closely resemble a Facebook page, as well as gave members the ability to follow companies.

Before you update your company’s page, you might want to see the brands that are excelling on the social network.

In that case, it’s a good thing LinkedIn unveiled on Wednesday its list of the best company pages in 2012. The list spans industries to include a media outlet (CNBC), a major corporation (Disney), a company that offers training and software for marketers (HubSpot), and a dentist (Pacific Dental Services).

“These are great examples of how businesses and organizations are using their LinkedIn company page to showcase their brand and connect with their target audience in a meaningful way,” said Lana Khavinson, LinkedIn’s senior product marketing manager LinkedIn, in a blog post.

The social network determined the list of companies by asking its audience for recommendations, which they shared via LinkedIn and Twitter. It compiled the top 12 into a SlideShare presentation, which includes four tips for improving pages:
