Sleep deprivation is destroying your brain

Diane Sawyer was not drunk on Tuesday night, as the Twitterati have insisted.

The veteran newsperson was a tad loopy during the ABC News election coverage, but that’s because she was sleep deprived, an ABC News source told Business Insider.

In that case, it makes sense that she’d seem a little liquored up. An infographic on sleep deprivation says going 17 to 19 hours without sleep is the equivalent of having a blood alcohol level of .05, while 21 hours sans shut eye is the same as being drunk.
