Sarah Palin rips Washington Post for falsely reporting she signed with Al Jazeera

By Michael Sebastian | Posted: February 13, 2013

Sarah Palin got a belated birthday wish—an excuse to rip the “lamestream media.”

On Tuesday, The Washington Post published a blog post by journalist Suzi Parker who reported that Palin had signed with the Al Jazeera network. The blog post cited The Daily Currant as its source. Great story—except the article was satirical.

The Post issued a correction, but Palin, an outspoken critic of what she calls the “lamestream media,” feasted on the erroneous report, firing off a series of tweets:

Recently, Palin, who celebrated a birthday on Monday, parted ways with Fox News, where she was a paid contributor. Palin said she was leaving the station to reach a broader audience, a point The Daily Currant story mentions before saying the one-time vice presidential nominee chose Al Jazeera because of its large international audience.

The headline to the erroneous Post blog says, “Sarah Palin Tries to Stay Relevant.” Looks like she made that happen for Palin—for this news cycle at least.
