Live streaming continues to grow with new Periscope features, Blab
Fans of Twitter’s livestream app can share even more, and a newcomer to the live-streaming game makes the trend more social than ever.
With new features, Periscope hopes to make live streaming through its app even more accessible.
The Twitter-owned app announced that its users can shoot landscape video through both its iOS and Android apps and that the stream would adjust to fit viewers’ screens.
“As much as we’re fans of portrait video, we know that there are times where the scene you’re trying to capture is best expressed in landscape,” a company blog post states.
Along with landscape video, Periscope users can also share their streams on Facebook, as well as through Twitter.
Summit for live-stream fiends
Three passionate fans—blogger Ryan Bell, Jamie Grumet and comedian Bradley Laborman—have created New York Scope Week, a summit for all things Periscope in New York City from Sept. 22–24. Neither Twitter nor Periscope took part in its creation.
“We’re making so many connections on Periscope that we want to take it to real life,” said Cathy Hackl, the summit’s PR director.
