The Super Bowl is a multimedia event.
Two teams square off in front of an audience, as millions watch at home, and millions more follow along and comment on social media.
In fact, the contest on social media has already begun, with tens of millions of mentions of this year’s teams—the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens—pouring in already.
Thus far, the 49ers are edging out the Ravens.
According to an
infographic from monitoring firm Sysomos, fans on social media have a slightly higher opinion of the 49ers than the Ravens: 79 percent of mentions about the San Francisco club are positive compared with 77 percent for Baltimore.
All of that data—and more—can be found in this infographic, “The Social Media Guide to Super XLVII,” including how to follow the teams, the players, and the journalists on social media.
