Might want to throw your ol' newspaper pals a lifeline. The LinkedIn Blog adapted the annual “Economic Report of the President” into a map showing the fastest growing and fastest shrinking industries in America. Newspapers take the crown for fastest shrinking. (via The Atlantic Wire)

Good thing CNN is in talks to acquire the booming website Mashable.

The Chicago Sun-Times, on the other hand, is reportedly a potential buyer for Windy City’s iconic weekly The Chicago Reader, a report in Crain's Chicago Business said Monday. In a blog post, the Reader's longtime media columnist Michael Miner questioned the report.

According to a new poll, roughly half of voters in Alabama and Mississippi think Chicago’s own, President Obama, is a Muslim, which inspired a trending topic on Twitter this afternoon: “Obama is Muslim.” The majority of voters in those states also have a favorable opinion of Rush Limbaugh and don't believe in evolution.
