Brand manager for Cracker Barrel

By Alan Pearcy | Posted: December 14, 2012
The year was 1994. It was a crisp, fall morning in Springfield, Ill. My aunt and uncle were visiting, and they insisted on going to the local Cracker Barrel for a hearty breakfast before immersing themselves in the world of Abraham Lincoln.

However, being all of eight years old, I had something on my mind other than my appetite and Honest Abe.

The restaurant chain's famed peg board puzzle.

I’d come close to trumping it a time or two, but had always left at least two pegs remaining.

That day was different. As I settled in my chair, completely unaware of anyone's presence, I jumped peg after peg, up and down and all around that 5x5-holed triangle brainteaser until, alas, it was just me and one solitary green peg.

It was my life’s greatest triumph. And I’m OK with that.

All these years later, however, it’s a different puzzle I'd like to help Cracker Barrel solve. Its menu development team is in need of a brand manager with marketing experience to help ensure that the restaurant and its dining options remain relevant in serving the customer and the company’s brand promise.

It’s no puzzle how to apply. Just click here
