For the second year in a row, Boston consulting firm Bain & Co. is No. 1 in Glassdoor.com’s rankings of best places to work.
If that name sounds familiar, that’s probably because you heard it multiple times during the 2012 election. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was the company’s CEO in the late 1970s and early 1980s, later working with several partners to form Bain Capital. Romney returned to that firm as interim CEO for a period in the 1990s.
A lot of the discussion of Bain & Co. during the election was at least tangentially unfavorable, with talk of whether Romney secured a Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation bailout
All that discussion apparently hasn’t fazed employees over the past two years, however. They seem to love working there and aren’t afraid to share it on Glassdoor, whose company rankings are based solely on employee reviews.

“The culture and people are amazing,” one reviewer succinctly put it.
Another added, “I know these people are the ones I'll be in touch with 20 years from now, on a personal and/or professional basis.”
Bain & Co.’s average ranking on Glassdoor is 4.6 out of 5 stars.
