The tech giant faced the ire of pop star Taylor Swift (and her legions of devotees) after Swift posted an open letter to Apple bashing its latest service, Apple Music.

At issue was the fact that Apple doesn’t plan to pay artists as part of the three-month free trial it is offering users.

Swift posted the following, in part, on her Tumblr:

I’m sure you are aware that Apple Music will be offering a free 3 month trial to anyone who signs up for the service. I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.

To Apple’s credit, it quickly reversed any such policy, as senior vice president Eddy Cue communicated Sunday night in a few tweets:

Apple will always make sure that artist are paid #iTunes #AppleMusic
