6 guidelines for running an ethical social media contest
Changing your contest rules on the fly or forcing entrants to post to their timelines may not simply anger your fans. It may also violate social media platform terms and other rules.
• Mandate disclosure from your contestants. (See my post “In the Interest of Full Disclosure” for more on this.) • Make sure your own staff knows the rules, and • Monitor the contestants to ensure they are following the guidelines.
