They say writing things down brings good results, and that’s especially true with this clever Vine from Sprinklr
strategy director Esteban Contreras.
Proving napkins are useful for more than just mopping up spilled coffee, the social media guru has posted a video timeline of every major social media site—starting in 2002 with Friendster—handwritten on the back of a clean, white wipe.
Contreras packs a lot of info into the allotted six seconds, moving chronologically and using his pen to signify major events in addition to company milestones, including Facebook’s dropping the “The” in 2006, Twitter’s integrating hashtags in 2007, and Gowalla’s going bust in 2012. Question mark doodles appear as the timeline goes past 2013 and beyond. Given how far we’ve come in just over a decade, I think we might need a bigger napkin. Or maybe a whole tablecloth.
